It is evident that there is significant gender gap in mobile value chain despite of massive opportunities evolves as a result of expansion of the mobile industry across developing and emerging markets including Tanzania. Therefore this initiative creates excellent opportunities for female mobile money agents by ensuring access to financial services; markets and free training program in small business management to grow and expand their businesses. The women participating in the program will have access to a working capital loan to be provided by renowned Microfinance Institution known as FINCA and to a free training program in small business management.

The financing and business training is intended to help women start up a business as a mobile money agent or, for existing agents, to manage better and grow their mobile money business. By increasing the participation of women in the network of mobile money agents we also expect to see many more women starting to use the mobile money service for their personal or business needs. Other expected outcomes include access to wider network, improved self-confidence and increased income.
